Because the declarant name must appear on the French TVVI declaration, changing it often triggers: a new declaration with French tax authorities, treatment similar to a transfer of ownership, possible fiscal representative involvement, and additional administrative burdens. For this reason, changes are strongly discouraged unless absolutely necessary, such as: divorce or legal separation, death or incapacity, or restructuring of the ownership entity that legally alters control.
